Ludlow Assembly Room Comedy Hotspot

  • Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Market Square, Ludlow, SY8 1AS Castle Street Ludlow, England, SY8 1AZ United Kingdom (map)

Head on up to Oscars in the middle of lovely Ludlow for another blinding line up from Comedy Hotspot. Four brilliant acts, all making amusing waves on the UK comedy circuit.

JON PEARSON

Crowned Best MC in the Midlands in 2022, Jon is a regular at all of our clubs.

His crowd work is second to none, as shown by his Spotify Album released by Comedy Dynamics.

Jon’s career has even taken him overseas with performances in Spain, Norway and even as far away as Wigan (it is like being on another planet).

Jon is also a familiar face on at comedy festivals across the UK having taken three solo shows to the Leicester, Nottingham & Edinburgh festivals with the highlight of the all coming in the form of a sold out show at his home town Melton Theatre in Melton Mowbray.

Jon has also provided tour support for Darren Harriot on his UK 2018/2019 tour and Lucy Porter on her UK 2017 tour

Jon’s laid back storytelling has audiences hanging on his every word. With tales based around his own life experiences, his anecdotes are relatable and certain to have people in hysterics. Jon is a perfect addition to any line up and can both MC and do a set.

RICKY BALSHAW

A quick-witted, slow walking, fast rising star, Ricky Balshaw is without question, the funniest Paralympic Dressage medallist in the UK, perhaps the world.

Stepping over his cerebral palsy like it’s the mildest of inconveniences, Ricky pulls his audience into a joyfully dark world of self-depreciating hilarity. No sympathy vote is needed (or accepted) as Ricky dominates comedy stages up and down the UK.

A brilliant joke-smith and storyteller, this young man has comedy greatness in his bones.

He has performed at clubs such as Hot Water Comedy Club and clubs across the Midlands. Ricky has also been a pundit for Channel 4 for the Paralympics from London, Rio and Tokyo.

He is also a BBC New Comedy Award finalist who has appeared on BBC One and BBC Three.

LOVDEV BARPAGA

Not only is Lovdev a comedian, he also became a breakfast show presenter on FreeRadio in Birmingham. Lovdev also has started his own podcast called “Crazy Little Thing Called Lovdev”, you can catch it on all major podcast services like Google, Itunes, Spotify and other popular services.

As well as performing Comedy for over 10 years he’s known to well crafted old school style one liners and puns his delivery and material are always spot on, easily suitable for venues who prefer a more clean and subtle act.

His was crowned as the UK Pun Champion at Leicester Comedy festival in 2017.

Lovdev also featured on the line up for Big Value at Edinburgh Festival 2013. And BBC Asian Network Live, and this year Lovdev is on the line up for Best In Class @ Edinburgh fringe. Lovdev is already opening and closing spots for smaller and bigger clubs across the UK.
